The 2,100 Crane Estate consists of Castle Hill, including the “Great House,” and the Inn at Castle Hill, as well as Crane Beach and the Crane Wildlife Refuge.

The spectacular Crane Estate encompasses more than 2,100 acres in Ipswich, Massachusetts. The Estate is made up of three properties: Castle Hill, a National Historic Landmark that is the home of The Great House, a perfect venue for guided tours, programs and weddings, Crane Beach, a popular summer destination, and the Crane Wildlife Refuge. The Estate was owned by Chicago industrialist Richard T. Crane, Jr. who purchased the property in 1910 and worked with leading architects and artists to shape his summer family retreat. In 1928, he crowned the estate with a grand mansion designed by renowned Chicago architect David Adler. Programs for all ages include first person tours, the Roaring Twenties Lawn Party, and a summer picnic concert series.
